US Spot Bitcoin ETFs Near $60 Billion in Cumulative Inflows Two Years After Launch
U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds, first approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 10, 2024 across eleven products — including BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), Fidelity's FBTC, the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, a converted Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, and funds from VanEck, Bitwise, and several other issuers — have continued to attract substantial capital more than two years after launch.
By April 2026, cumulative lifetime net inflows into U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs had reached approximately $58.5 billion, according to industry fund-flow trackers, with April alone contributing roughly $2.44 billion in net inflows, reported as the strongest single month for the category so far in 2026.
Total assets under management across the category fluctuated in step with bitcoin's price swings, standing near $128 billion in mid-March 2026 before easing to roughly $102 billion by April 2026 amid a broader market pullback from bitcoin's October 2025 highs. Globally, crypto-linked ETFs and exchange-traded products across more than 140 listings surpassed $146 billion in combined assets under management as of late January 2026.
Bitcoin ETFs are now estimated to represent roughly 6.5% of bitcoin's total circulating market capitalization, underscoring their growing role as one of the primary regulated vehicles through which institutional and retail investors gain exposure to bitcoin without directly holding or custodying the asset.
