Plus500 — CFD broker
Plus500 is a CFD broker listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). This is a separate page from our crypto exchange rankings — we cover Plus500 here purely as a CFD broker.
The group was founded in 2008 in Israel by graduates of the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), with its operational headquarters in Haifa. The parent company, Plus500 Ltd, listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2013, and in June 2018 moved to the LSE's main market and joined the FTSE 250 index.
Regulation
Clients in the European Union are served by Plus500CY Ltd, regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), license no. 250/14, providing services under the EU passporting regime (MiFID II). Plus500 is not directly licensed by every country's national regulator — it operates in many countries under passporting/equivalence arrangements stemming from its CySEC and FCA licenses; check whether your country's regulator recognizes this before signing up. The group also holds licenses in other jurisdictions (including the FCA in the UK and ASIC in Australia).
Instruments offered
Plus500 offers CFDs on forex, stock indices, commodities, stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrency — exclusively as CFDs, with no option to actually buy and hold the underlying cryptocurrency. Check the exact terms, spreads, and commissions on the broker's official site before opening an account.
Account and platform
The minimum deposit for card or e-wallet funding is usually 100 EUR/USD/GBP — a bank transfer may require a higher minimum. Plus500 offers a free, unlimited demo account with a configurable virtual balance, available without providing payment details. The broker operates exclusively on its own WebTrader platform — fully browser-based, no installation needed — plus a mobile app; it doesn't support MetaTrader 4/5 or external tools, including trading bots (Expert Advisors).
Who Plus500 is for
Plus500 is aimed primarily at traders who want a simple, unified CFD platform without extra social features (like eToro's) or the ability to plug in external software. Its wide instrument list in one clean WebTrader interface is often recommended to people who value simplicity — though it's worth remembering the broker doesn't hold a direct license from every national regulator, as described in the regulation section above, so check what protections apply in your own country of residence.

We couldn't confirm a reliable Trustpilot profile for Plus500 directly — the reviews below are from the App Store.
„I've lost so much money because when you go to execute a trade it logs you out and you have to reconnect. It doesn't matter if I have full service or full wifi. By the time it reconnects you've lost $100. DO NOT DOWNLOAD unless you love losing money.”
„App is taking a long time to load the order screen. Would be nice if we can set GTC orders, and customize the home screen”
„Please continue to keep up the good work. Love the platform, it was complicated at first but once you get used to it, this platform is the best in my opinion.”
„Been thru thick and thin w/ the broker. My favorite thing are Quick withdraws, same day. No matter what day or time. Thank you. Look forward to more success.”
