About NiceHash

NiceHash was founded in 2014 by two Slovenian university students, Marko Kobal and Matjaž Škorjanc. The platform is known primarily as a broker for crypto mining hash power, but it has also built out the NiceHash Exchange for standard crypto trading. NiceHash is available in around 130 countries and supports more than 30 cryptocurrencies across 50+ trading pairs.

Because NiceHash's core business is a hash-power marketplace rather than a conventional spot exchange, trading volume for the platform is not reliably tracked by third parties — CoinMarketCap lists NiceHash's trading volume as "untracked," so no daily volume figure is reported here.

Deposit and Withdrawal Options

One of NiceHash's biggest practical advantages is the sheer number of available deposit and withdrawal methods — more than 50 in total. Funds can be withdrawn either to a fiat account or a crypto wallet. NiceHash also maintains a direct Lightning Network connection, which makes BTC withdrawals free; the same applies to BTC deposits.

Fees

Trading fees on NiceHash scale with a tiered system — the more a user trades, the lower the fees, across 10 tiers. What sets NiceHash apart from most competitors is how the tier is calculated: it's based on an account's entire trading history, rather than a recent window (commonly the trailing 3 months on many other exchanges). The crypto-to-fiat exchange fee is typically around 1.45%. Some additional administrative fees apply in specific situations, such as account recovery or correcting an incorrect deposit address, though a typical user is unlikely to encounter these.

Hash Power

Hash Power is NiceHash's other core trading mechanism, distinct from standard spot trading. Users can buy hashing power and use the resulting mining proceeds, or sell their own hashing power by connecting a miner to NiceHash's mining pool. The entire hash-power marketplace is accessible on the platform, and an API is available for automating the process end to end.

Security Incident: December 2017 Payment System Breach

On December 6, 2017, NiceHash suffered a major security incident in which attackers used a spear-phishing attack to compromise its payment system, stealing approximately 4,700 BTC — worth around $64 million at the time. The marketplace was taken offline and reopened on December 21, 2017, roughly two weeks later. In February 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice indicted members of North Korea's Lazarus Group in connection with the attack.

Independent readings of the page ranged from 1.3 to 1.8/5 — too wide a spread to publish one number.

I have used this app since 2019 and have enjoyed it. It's user friendly GUI and consistent stability have always been my favorite things about the platform. For whatever reason they recently updated the platform and literally ruined everything. Sadness!

Would be great if I could log in. I have used the app with my same email address for many years now it will not let me in and I click on lost password and it does not come up my email. What in the world?

NiceHash does not communicate and they do a lot of weird stuff with your KYC. They are not to be trusted. There are so many better mining applications out there.

Since the recent update, if I select active easy mining it automatically exits out and send me back to the main screen. Only on mobile not web browser!
