XTB — CFD broker
XTB is a Polish forex/CFD broker listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, operating since 2004. This is a separate page from our crypto exchange rankings — we cover XTB here purely as a CFD broker.
The company was founded in 2002 in Warsaw as X-Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski, and has operated under its current legal name, XTB S.A., since 2004. In 2005 it received a license from Poland's KNF to conduct brokerage activities, in 2007 it became a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), and in May 2016 it carried out its own IPO on that exchange, where its shares are still listed today.
Regulation
XTB S.A. operates under a license from Poland's Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego (KNF, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority) to conduct brokerage activities, and is under that regulator's direct oversight. The company is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, which comes with additional disclosure obligations toward shareholders and the market. Note that KNF's oversight is Poland-specific — check what investor protections apply in your own country of residence before opening an account.
Instruments offered
XTB offers CFDs on forex, stock indices, commodities, and cryptocurrency, as well as stocks and ETFs (both as real ownership and as CFDs). Exact terms, spreads, and commissions depend on the instrument and account type — check them on the broker's official site before opening an account.
Account and platform
XTB requires no minimum deposit on an individual account — a live account can be opened with no initial funding. The broker also offers a free demo account, active for 30 days by default, which can continue to be used after opening a live account. Trading happens on XTB's own xStation 5 platform (browser, desktop, and mobile versions for iOS/Android) — as of March 15, 2024, XTB no longer offers MetaTrader 4/5, having migrated all clients to xStation.
Who XTB is for
XTB works well for traders comfortable with a European-regulated (KNF, an EU national regulator) broker that offers a wide range of instruments in one account — from crypto, forex, and index CFDs to real stocks and ETFs. No minimum deposit and a free demo account lower the barrier to entry for beginners, but CFD leverage requires understanding the risk described in the warning above first. Note that KNF's oversight is Poland-specific, so check what protections apply in your own country of residence.

„The promotions that entice you to sign up to XTB are false. When you enquire for support from their customer service team you receive vague and slow answers that do nothing to assist you. Overall I would certainly not recommend XTB to anyone looking to invest.”
„My overall experience is really positive, however when it comes to big event on the stock both app and Xstation5 can be very laggy which is super annoying when you need to "act fast"!”

„Xstation 5 platform is suitable for all levels of experience, super user friendly with a tone of educational resources available to help all traders or investors. Even there customer support is exceptional 100% recommend”
